1.0 Introduction
Health and Social Care sector is an important sector for any country in the world. This sector ensures good health conditions for the people of a country. Without a healthy population, no country can improve in any sector as people must have that perfect health condition to participate in any kind of work. Nowadays Health and Social Care sector works like a very large sector not only to ensure proper health conditions for the people but also to ensure a healthy environmental condition (Field, R. and Oliver, J. 2014).
According to Potter, C. and David Lowe, D. (2018), legislation can be defined as the practice of the power and function of making rules which the government or any other organization have promulgated. There is also some legislation for the health and social care sector. It is necessary because the legislation can bring some conditions under which people will get their services properly from the health and social care sector. Government and other organizations implement some policies, laws, procedures which will act as a protective factor for the people. These legislations have a great impact on the providers of the health and service are sector. These laws also affect the mind of service users. Service users can get the maximum protection and benefits through these legislations. These legislations have made some guidelines for the service providers of the health and care sector. The guidelines show that how the providers should treat the customers. These laws also guide that exactly what kind of services will be provided to the people. The Human Rights Act (1988), Care standards Act (2000), Data Protection Act, etc. are some laws that are implemented at different times to provide the right services to the common people.
The Human Rights Act (1988) is such a kind of law. This law says that people should do their fights for their rights. Every person has the right to find an equal kind of service from a particular health condition. If they are not satisfied with the service, they can complain against the organization. Care standards Act (2000) ensures the empowerment of the service users through providing the right guidelines to the workers of these sectors. To protect the important information and make sure the security purpose of the people, the Data Protection act does its jobs (Donnelly, J. 2016)
In this report, research is done about the impacts of these legislations on the service providers and users of the health and social care sectors of the UK. Some questions are developed and selected to do the research process. The survey process is done to find out the answers to these questions and make this research more accurate and reliable for all.
1.1 Research Background
Yin, R. K. (2017), said that the research work definitely has importance as it displays that what people are thinking about these legislations. Health sector laws are mainly the federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. The research on the health and social care sector delivers some information that these laws are not only applied for the delivery of care and the financial areas. The research programs are shown the interaction of the laws and the health issues. Awareness of the people is another important thing that will increase through the research program. The research program is the strategy to make people go for these organizations and to increase their belief in the health and care sector.
1.2 Research Problem
Walliman, N. (2016), disclosed that research is an important process of gaining information about any subject. But, research is not always accurate as there are some problems to perform the research program. Like, in the case of this research, there is no standardization process that can be followed. Sometimes researchers are facing the problem of finding people. They do not always find enough people to make their surveying process. The researchers have to rely on self-reported data which sometimes they have to assume from the behavior of the people. The research program is done in a team which may create confusion among the researchers. These confusions are about working procedure, surveying number and pattern of the questions. Evaluation of the result is also a problem of research as every member of the research team cannot think in the same pattern. Everyone has his own thinking level for the perspective projection. All these things are creating some problems for the research method and make the research project more difficult.
1.3 Aims and Objectives of the Research
Aims
The main aim of this research project is to know about the impact of the legislation on service providers and users of the health and social care sector of the UK. By knowing about the impact of these legislations, the effectiveness of these laws can also be founded and which is very much useful to increase the awareness of the normal people about their rights. It is important because they must get all the rights from the health and social care sector. This research is done for these purposes.
Objective
The researchers must have to prepare some objectives of their project work which will make it smooth and perfect. So, it is necessary to fix all the objectives of the project work and perform the project work according to these objectives. The objectives of this research are:
- To know about the legislations of the health and social care sector.
- To make a research team to perform the survey.
- To make a series of questions about the effect of the legislation.
- To select a group of people to direct the surveying operation.
- To find out the answers from the selected people.
- To analyze the impact of the legislation on those people from those answers.
- To make the discussion and come to a result from the analysis.
- To use this research work to increase the awareness of people and make the health and social care sector more reliable to them.
2.0 Research Management Plan
2.1 Research Scope
Legislations cannot be maintained properly all the time. The main reason behind this problem is the attitude of the service providers who do not want to provide the service willingly sometimes. This may hurt the good reputation of the health and social care sector. Another reason is the unawareness of the common people. They do not know about their rights and do not have any idea about how they can properly service from the providers of health and care sectors. Through this research, providers can care about their job because of the strictness of the laws. People will also make sure about their rights. The health organization then will arrange better services for the people otherwise they will be in a major problem from both sides.
2.2 Estimation of cost and resources for the research
According to Creswell, W. J. (2014), to make a research program, costing should be measured accurately. It is necessary because research work has to be performed in some phases. So, researchers must make a costing list about in which phase how much money they need. With this, they can also get the total cost of this research. They have to submit this estimation to the authority to get the approval to perform the research work. The team also has to make a list of the members who will work on this. It is very important to control the cost of the research. Unnecessary spending of money will definitely create a problem. The team cannot solve if there is a shortage of money. They cannot get any support from the authority if an extra bit of money is needed from the estimated cost. So, they need to be very careful about the cost of the research program. The costing is done on the basis of some points like survey staff salaries, survey staff traveling, required materials for the survey, proper training of the survey team, data collection. There are also some other things which should be considered while doing the costing………….
