Introduction
Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a process of determining self-strengths, self-weaknesses, self-reflection to know about their own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities to develop one’s own personal and professional experiences. The objective of this personal and professional development plan is to develop a plan to become more conscious about one’s own personal and professional development. After developing the DBA program, one person can know about their skilled areas, the situation of competition that helps to develop one’s personal, academic and professional plan by providing priority onset of action. The prior knowledge and experience are determined through the DBA program plan. The PDP model develops here in three stages like personal analysis, professional analysis and academic analysis. A critical reflection and discussion of the current doctoral program and its impact on future professional and personal development will be developed via the PDP plan. I started my academic learning in Bangladesh and completed graduation and post-graduation. I have been working as a retail assistant in ASDA since 2013 to now in which I gained the practical knowledge to develop my personal and professional knowledge.
Personal Development Plan (PDP) definition
According to Bob (2010), Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a structured process to determine one’s own knowledge, experiences, and skills, attitudes to gain personal and professional goals. This plan helps to determine reflection of one’s learning and knowledge through different specific training or specific program. To determine academic, personal and professional goals, it is a structured way of reflecting on their own knowledge, experiences, achievement and learning (Munns and Woodward, 2006).
A format is developed by the University of Bath to determine guidelines for developing a Personal Development Plan (PDP) (University of Bath, 2014). This PDP plan describes academic, social and personal skills and experiences that they gained. The format of the PDP plan is developed here:

From this above figure, it is seen that PDP is developed in mainly six stages. The first stage is where I am now that is determined by SWOT analysis. The second stage of this plan is where I want to be that determine future development plan. In the third stage determine the way of achieving a future development plan. What support do I need to achieve my personal and professional goals? The contingency plan and conclusion is determined in the fifth and sixth stage.
Statement of personal learning development
To enter the DBA program, the Self-actualization need from Maslow’s hierarchy of needs motivated me. Because other needs safety, security, self-esteem needs are fulfilled via my academic learning and work experiences. I completed my graduation and post-graduation from Bangladesh at the University of Chittagong in English then I again completed BSc and MSc in business administration from the University of Ulster. I have been working as a retail assistant in ASDA since 2013. To upgrade my knowledge and skills, I need to pursue a DBA program. This program is needed in this competitive business arena to cope up with competitive positions. This program also helps to determine a career in a new specific way and gives the opportunity of continuous learning and collecting new experiences. My academic, personal and professional skills and experiences will be increased at a time improving attitudes and behaviors.
Reflection process
According to Oxford Brooks University (2013), Reflection is one of the important parts of learning and thinking. This reflection process determines what we actually gain at present and what should be gained skills and knowledge in the future. So it can be said that the reflection process measures the learning process in the present that impacts the future stage of career and personal life based on previous experiences and skills (Holman, 2012). This helps individual people to enhance their self-assessment.
Different theories and models are determined for knowing about learning and experiences. From these theories and models, it is found that learning and experiences are interrelated with each other. Here some reflection learning models are given here for actual understanding. These models are described here:
Graham Gibbs Reflective cycle
According to Gibbs (1988), Graham Gibb’s reflective learning cycle determines step by step learning. Based on this theory, learning something can be arising from collecting experiences and this well-run by step by step process. This Gibb’s cycle is determined based on six stages like description, feelings, evaluation, and description of the situation, actual conclusion and action plan…………………………
