The study of employee behavior in a company is known as organizational behavior. Hence, the term mainly focuses on the performance of employees and the way they perform their daily activities in the company. The idea of organizational behavior can be looked at from two angles which are; external and internal viewpoints. The term also focuses on how communication is established between employees in the company (Mullins, 2015).
Therefore, this study is categorized into four main areas. The first part will look at the similarities and differences in culture and organizational structure that exist between Microsoft and Samsung. This part will also focus on how culture and organizational structure affects both Microsoft and Samsung. Thereafter, the elements that have an impact on people’s behavior at Microsoft will be discussed.
The second part will look at the similarities and differences of leadership styles that exist between different companies. The part will also look at how organization theory supports management practice. Finally, different management approaches will be evaluated by looking at Samsung and Microsoft.
The third part will look at how different types of leadership styles can boost the motivation of employees by looking at the Microsoft transition period. Whereby, varieties of motivational theories will be discussed based on Microsoft.
The last part will discuss the nature of group behavior in the company. Also, good attributes that can boost strong teamwork in a company will be discussed. Thereafter, the effect of technology on improving teamwork in the company will be evaluated.

1.1 Compare and contrast organizational structure and culture
Organizational structure describes how managers handle communications and cope with staff at work (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2015). Hence, it concentrates on how managers handle their day-to-day responsibilities. Organizational structure can either be a matrix, flat or hierarchical; as described below;
This structure consists of a number of employees working together consisting of one CEO at the top (Mullins, 2015). Hence, the higher you go up the number of people at each level is reduced. This structure is mostly used in large businesses e,g government, religions, etc.

This structure describes the relationship between the department and products in the form of a grid or matrix. In this structure people work in different teams and projects including those working in departments to which they belong in, as a result, more managers are required when using this structure.

Horizontal or flat structure:
In this structure, all the employees in the same line have the same idea of how activities are performed. Hence, each employee has no single responsibility as they are required to work in a team and share their ideas. The structure allows responsible staff to make decisions quickly without relying on others. But it can be difficult to apply this structure in large companies.

Organizational culture brings together all the beliefs, traditions, attitudes, policies, and values in order to unite all the employees in the organization (McLean and Marshall, 2013). Organizational structure can be grouped into four categories, as mentioned below;
