Introduction
The team leader of a business firm is responsible to develop teams in the business firm for accomplishing the organizational tasks and success (Anderson, 2014). This report discusses the process of developing a team on a case study of Royal Dutch Shell. It is a top biggest company in the UK. This oil and gas provider handles the array of operations connected with raw materials exploration, production, transport, distribution, marketing, and trading (Royal Dutch Shell, 2019). Nowadays, it riches over US$305 billion in revenue and over the years has patronized successful motorsport organizations such as BMW Motorsport, McLaren or Hyundai Motorsport. The company operates in over 70 countries, hires about 90,000 employees and has interests in 21 refineries. In addition, Royal Dutch Shell also supports many social programs and in 2017 it appropriated $111 million for worldwide investments (Royal Dutch Shell, 2019). The overall discussion on team types, development and leadership techniques in the first task. After that, the 2nd task includes the measurement of my efficiency to meet the goals of team members and the goals of the organization.

P1 Describe different types of team and the benefits of teams for an organization
There are different types of team and each type serve to achieve different motive. Here, I am going to discuss some types of the team which has been found in Royal Dutch Shell:
Special Purpose Team: Special purpose teams are those which serve to achieve a particular goal. They are generally designed for a specific event or to solve a specific problem (Zubair, 2016). They are temporary in nature.
Multi-functional Team: This team is designed to include people with different functions in order to attain a particular goal (Zubair, 2016). This team becomes more effective when the capabilities, knowledge and training of one department are not available to solve a problem or to handle a situation.
Self-Directed Team: This team is not followed by any leadership. Members of this team are self-motivated and self-directed (Zubair, 2016). They can accomplish their job as their preferred way in order to attain the firm’s goal.
Management Team: The management team includes a group of individuals that operate at the higher levels of an organization (Zubair, 2016). The management team is responsible for managing other individuals and maintaining responsibility for main business functions.
Informal team: Informal team is generally destined to improve the working environment of Royal Dutch Shell. For this purpose, Royal Dutch Shell has designed a cricket team that improves the relationship among employees.
Virtual Team: Virtual team allows members to connect with software and video conferencing systems in order to communicate with each other (Zubair, 2016).

Introduction
Cohesive teams mean team members will work together and pursue one another in order to achieve a particular goal (Mulika, 2015). It is very much essential to solve disputes among team members and to achieve a particular goal effectively and efficiently. Team cohesiveness is very much essential for Royal Dutch Shell. Therefore; Now I am going to explain how to build a cohesive team for Royal Dutch Shell;
Setting Team goals
At first, team goals should be specified. Why the team has been designed and for what purpose? If the team members are well known about the purpose of the team, then they will work tighter in order to achieve the common goal (Mulika, 2015).
Dealing with group conflict
Group Conflict may occur among individuals of a group. It may occur when the individual’s need is different from the group’s goals or norms (Kulvisaechana, 2015). In order to get the best output of a team, the leader of the team must mitigate the group conflict in an efficient and effective way before it clashed. The team leader may deal with the group conflicts in the following ways;
- Acknowledge the conflict
- Providing conflict resolution training
- Improving communication skills
- Find out if group members have conflicting needs
- clarifying positions of each team member
- providing third-party conflict mediation services
- End with a Win-Win Solution (Kulvisaechana, 2015).
Effective communication
In order to build a cohesive team, the group leader must ensure effective communication among members of the team (Kulvisaechana, 2015). If there is a communication gap, people will be unable to communicate with each other time which may lead to the digression of the team’s goal.
Effective leadership
Effective leadership is essential to build a cohesive team. If the leader influence and motivate the team effectively, then a team member will diverse to achieve the team’s goal (Ceylan, 2015).
