1.0   Introduction

McDonald’s is a well-known fast-food shop that is famous as the quality food supplier in over 100 countries with about 35,000 outlets around the world. The headquarters of McDonald’s is located in Oak Brook, the U.S. where this fast food shop is first established in 1984 in California. Nowadays, McDonald’s has become the 8th biggest business organization in the USA with about 375,000 devoted and skilled employees where the main ambition of these employees is to make the position of this fast food shop at the highest rank in the fast-food market. However, the success of this business organization may create a number of unexpected criticisms because of its popularity (McDonald’s Annual Report, 2018).

According to McDonald’s Annual Report (2018), McDonald’s organizational culture supports achieving its business goal. In addition, McDonald’s focuses on its organizational culture to attract its target and potential customers, and maintain the experienced staff. Moreover, organizational culture also supports McDonald’s to make its business success in the world. HR development is highlighted by McDonald’s organizational culture. Furthermore, the organizational culture of McDonald’s comprises a number of characteristics including organizational learning, individual learning, diversity, and inclusion.

In this paper, first, the term “critical thinking” is described. Then, this paper assesses how beliefs, attitudes, and values affect workplace behavior. Next, this paper identifies and explains different management theories and their applications in the workplace.

1.1 Critical thinking

Critical thinking is a logical process in that managers of different business organizations can solve any type of problem and find out the solutions to the problems critically (Chatfield, 2017). In addition, critical thinking means skillfully intellectualizing and synthesizing from experience, observation, or reflection to take effective action or find out an effective solution against a problem. Moreover, it mainly involves the evaluation of a number of structures that are made to find out the main reasons for any problems.

A study by McLaughlin (2018), critical thinking helps an organization’s manager to observe the key determinations of a task, concepts, implications, reasoning views, inventions of the organizations to sort out different problems immediately. Furthermore, critical thinking consists of analytical, scientific, technical, technological, rational thinking, and economic to a business organization to sort out the misunderstanding issue between employers and employees (Critical Thinking, 2018). There are three steps of critical thinking that are shown as follows:

Salmon (2016) said that every business organization has some persons who are very good at critical thinking. The persons who are good at critical thinking are known as critical thinkers. Honesty is the key attribute of critical thinkers because an honest critical thinker is able to find out the key reasons behind any problem that is occurred in an organization. In addition, the other characteristic of a critical thinker is he/she must be truthful (Salmon, 2016). Only the truthful critical thinkers are able to find out the key reasons behind any problem. Moreover, usually, the critical thinkers focus on the analytical tools related to critical thinking that help them to make rules, concepts, or principles by analyzing, improving, and assessing their critical thinking way.

Additionally, they insistently work to develop their unseen qualities by different intellectual values such as intellectual integrity, intellectual humility, intellectual civility, intellectual thought, and intellectual empathy. Chatfield (2017) stated that critical thinkers are the devoted persons who do not think about how skilled and experienced they are in thinking critically but always try to find out the key reasons behind a problem and identify the best solutions to solve the problem. The cross-cultural issue is not practiced by them but they focus on fair-minded intentions (Linda Elder, 2017).

2.0 Impact of beliefs, attitudes, and values on your own workplace behavior

2.1 Difference between beliefs, attitudes, and values

According to Mele (2016), belief is the faith of the arrangement of a number of incredible views, thought and rules devoid of the visual facts. A model/theory on beliefs, attitudes, and values has been established by Milton Rokeach. His theory conceptualizes to influence the consumers to purchase or buy the products or services, or to follow a number of effective rules in daily life issues. In his theory, beliefs, attitudes, and values vary because of religious issues and manners (Boudon, 2018).

Beliefs

David (2014) said that belief is confined by an individual that influences him/her to manage his/her life with diverse rules which vary from the other individuals. A person or individual may maintain a number of incredible theories that are not proved systematically. In addition, belief inspires a person to understand the difference between right and wrong. Such as, soul belief, religious belief, self-realizations, and superstitions belief that takes an individual either hierarchically or traditionally. A single belief that is presented in a person’s life is increasing day by day which is helpful for his/her job to make the customer service properly (Mullins, 2014). On the other hand, there are some other types of beliefs such as only one creator is leading this universe. These kinds of beliefs are classified as peripheral and central, where central means no changeable and peripheral means changeable……………
