When an organization faces more liabilities than assets, it faces insolvency. This situation creates difficulties for the organization to pay the debts. In addition, the economic growth of a country is affected by insolvency situations. It also affects the income and performance of a country’s population. The situation of insolvency may create because of poor performance, most importantly in the case of leadership and profitability (Ackelsberg and Arlow, 2015). If a country’s economy is down, the income and the performance of the population are down because of a shortage of required resources. This means an insolvency situation cannot meet the needs and expectations of a country’s people.
NHS is the biggest organization in the UK health sector. The management process of NHS has been reconsidering as effective and efficient for a long time. However, it has been facing several challenges nowadays. The key challenges are coming from an aging population, lifestyle factors, the change in public expectation, rising costs, accident and emergency departments, and advanced medicine and technology. As a result, it has been an issue for the management of NHS to ensure better performance to contribute to the economy of a country.

NHS has been facing several challenges nowadays. The key challenges are coming from an aging population, lifestyle factors, the change in public expectation, rising costs, accident and emergency departments, and advanced medicine and technology. The main challenge faced by NHS is coming from the deficiency of its financial resources. The main cause is NHS facing difficulties to manage its activities because of government cost cuts for the NHS and the increased cost of NHS.

Thus, it has been an essentials issue for NHS to manage sufficient funds and resources to meet the organizational goals and objectives. Organizations can collect funds from different sources including banks and other lenders (Ackoff, 2013). The borrowed money is counted as short-term or long-term loans which are based on repayment periods. When an organization including NHS borrows a big amount of money from lenders and when they face difficulties to do repayment, this situation creates insolvency in an organization.
This insolvency can be disclosed because of poor cash management, continuous losses, reduced forecasted cash inflow, as well as increased cash expenses. When organizations of a country face continuous insolvency, the economy of the country is declined. This economic downturn of a country impact on the lifestyle of people, because this situation creates high unemployment. High unemployment may also create high crime in a country (Andersen, 2014). Thus, the research question of this study is how insolvency is impacting the performance of businesses and the county. The research topic is the causes and impacts of insolvency in UK businesses including NHS.

The aim of this project is to analyze the causes and effects of insolvency in the management process of NHS. Then, this study recommends both business organizations including NHS and the government to take more efficiency to reduce insolvency and increase the population. The objectives of this study are outlined as follows:
