There are many purposes of communication. First of all, the key purpose of any communication is to convey the right messages or information to the right person (Tuhovsky, 2017). Secondly, it is essential to coordinate the efforts of the communicators with each other. Thirdly, the basic purpose of communication is to develop the understanding and relation of the communicators. Managers should achieve strong communication skill in them for several reasons as it supports them to take their responsibilities and do works properly for a business’s success. According to Millraney (2018) notes, a process of conveying as well as understanding the messages that operate for communication is known as the communication cycle. The communication cycle includes different steps which are explained below:
Our Recommended Resources:
Sender: A sender is a person or any entity that is mainly creating the communication process
Message: Message is the information or ideas which sender needs to send to the receiver
Encoding: Encoding is the process of how a sender selects to bring messages into a proper form for sending to the receiver (Millraney, 2018)
Channel: Channel is the way by that the sender’s message is transmitted
Receiver: The receiver is the person or any entity that receive the messages from the sender
Decoding: Decoding is a process of how a receiver interprets as well as recognizes the sender’s message
Feedback: Feedback is the response of the receiver to a message
As Millraney (2018) notes, for starting a communication there must be a source that encodes the sender’s message and conveys this message through a proper channel then the receiver decodes the sender’s message and receive provides feedback about this message.
A study by Bartleby (2018) stated that considering these steps in the communication process makes effective communication in business.
