Introduction
Developing employee skills in workplaces play a significant role in the improvement of workforce performance and productivity in works (BPP, 2010). This report focuses on the development of employability skills required in the workplaces of the health and social care industry, and to develop effective employment. Secondly, the report emphasizes the assessment and development of employee responsibilities and performance artworks, including transferable skills, interpersonal skills, dynamics of team activities, and leadership and management skills. Finally, the report concentrates on the working requirement of problem-solving at the workplace along with strategies for solutions and the evaluation of strategies applied to solve the issues. The activities have been outlined and discussed in three sub-sections: a) self-appraisal form; b) continuous professional development; and c) collaborative team dynamics journals.

One of my key responsibilities at work is to serve customers. Thus, the performance objective against this responsibility is to gain excellent customer services skills by December 2016 | For achieving this objective I have followed the guidelines provided by my line managers and training provided by Sainsbury’s. I have also studied several books, journals, and websites publications related to how to provide excellent customer services. Finally, I have sought feedback from my line managers and colleagues about my improvement.
| My self-assessment and recommendations from my line managers and colleagues suggest that I should improve my customer’s customer service skills more, most importantly in dealing with customer queries and complaints. In addition, I have to get more knowledge about the product information so that when customers ask for I can respond immediately. | I have used positive imaginary or motivational messages and themes as quotes and/or slogans to improve my performance. In addition, by enabling myself to visualize success through the words of my line managers, who are responsible to imagine and evaluate success at workplaces and motivate staff to improve their performance.
| I always provide a positive attitude to the customers as a customer service assistant. Sometimes I feel tired, bitter, angry, or exhausted but I do not show to the customers. In addition, I am always inpatient. I importantly practice patience with myself and with my colleagues, line managers, and customers. For example, when customers are wrong in any issue, I am in patience. |

My line managers also suggest that I am a good team member but I have got a lack of understanding of the responsibilities of team works in some cases. | The team-building activities have encouraged me to work with others together outside the workplace. It has also motivated healthy competition and given me the opportunity to be a winning team member. Finally, it has improved my productivity and morale and lead me to a happier and healthier working environment. It has also supported to resolve pre-existing issues among team members. | I always show empathy to my team members. When I work with a team as a team member, I am always one to others’ opinions and thoughts, even when I do not agree with other team members. Although I have improved a lot, my colleagues and line managers see some weaknesses mainly in oral/verbal and listening communication. So, I have to improve my listening and speaking skills more. | Enhanced communication has improved my performance in talking and listening to my team members, colleagues, and line managers. It has been important for me to understand my employer’s objectives and job roles.
