Definition and the concepts of professionalism and dual professionalism in education and training

The concept of professionalism is defined as the conception or model of professionalism. The term professionalism suggests that one person having proficiency in a particular area of education. This proficiency in one field can be earned by assembling knowledge in that area of the profession, collecting more and information on that topic, and learning it for many years. In other words, professionalism can be defined as the specific features of the person with which he can have the ability to teach. Taking any particular field or work as a profession is referred to as the concept of professionalism.

A professional person needs to maintain their focus and aim regarding their profession. They need to sustain the self-interest in their certain selected profession. Here, the self-interest will be sustained if the person gets good earning, a good social status, some social and economical power and protection, and safety from their job place. Professionalism can also be referred to as the occupation of a person or group of people which makes them different from other occupations or order of work. The concept of professionalism can be impacted by various factors. The factors can be stated as cultural factors, environmental factors, legal factors, and factors related to humanity. Professionalism is divided into three classifications and they are:

1. Professional Parameters: the issues or affairs that are related to the ethical and legal concerns, in this factor these issues are mainly concentrated. Local or national or federal terms and conditions associated with the education side can be referred to as Professional Parameters.
2. Professional behaviors: the behaviors or the attitudes of the person of professions are concentrated on this factor. The professional person’s behaviors towards his family, friends, relatives, associates, etc. are mainly concentrated in this factor.
3. Professional responsibilities: in this factor the responsibilities of professional persons like responsibility towards his job, towards the society, towards the community, etc. are mainly concentrated.

Dual Professionalism

A person having two professions is called a dual profession. The dual profession also can be defined as the person having expertized or proficiency in two areas are called Dual professionalism. A person of dual professionalism turns his practical expertise into teaching that knowledge. A person of dual professionalism can also be referred to as a person who is practically proficient in certain areas as well as experts in the area of teaching. An example of dual professionalism is teachers and trainers. Teachers and trainers are skilled in both practical application and theoretical knowledge so that they teach the students.

 The ways in which professional values influence own practice area of specialism

There is a way of living or behaving appropriately. However, these living and behaving need some instruction or guidelines. Values functions as an instruction to us to live or behave properly. In the job place, to maintain one’s profession properly, professional values play the role of instruction. My professional values are impacted by my personal thinking. Professional values can be listed as Accountability, Responsibility, Professional Attitude, Integrity, teamwork, and Continuous Learning. I am an accounting teacher. My profession of the teaching of accounting are impacted by these professional values……………..
