What is HRM?

According to Torrington (2013), human resource management (HRM) discusses the methodical systems of professional management in companies. Defining staff benefits, staffing, designing, and defining work, compensations are the major sectors of human resource management.

What is PM?

According to Crush (2010), both human resource management and personal management are applied in Virgins Groups. Virgin Group recruits personnel conductors as well as manages the number of regular acts in personal management. Top administration makes the decisions in personal management in Virgin Group. This management system mainly emphasizes satisfaction and staff productivity. The human resource management of Virgin groups concentrates on productivity, culture, effectiveness, and participation. Human resource manages skillful actions. There all levels of administrations are required. Staff participation, competitiveness, authority, and decentralization concentrate on decisions in human resource management.

According to Churchard (2015), KFE Enterprise applies human resource management to an agreement with motivated and qualified staff. Both the functions of the personal department and the human resource department are working together as a single department. This department is responsible for taking any decisions and strategies for its employees. The recruitment and selection, training and development, relationship developing, engaging the staff are the key functions of this department.

1.2   How HRM functions help Virgin Groups in achieving its purposes

As Fombrun and Devanna (2014) notes, in Virgin Groups, human resource management gives

Recruitment and selection

First of all, HRM helps the business to hire and select the right people for the right positions at the right time. Thus, HRM plays an important role in the hiring and selection of people in Virgin Groups. In this case, Virgin hires and selects people from a culturally diverse background and creates an excellent work environment to gain business goals (Kainazarova, 2015).

Training and development

One of the key functions of the HRM department in an organization to train and develop its workforce to reduce skills gaps and shortages and improve staff performance and productivity in Virgin Groups. Thus, Virgin uses its HRM department to train its existing and new staff and extend their knowledge and understanding of business activities (Kainazarova, 2015).

Rewards and incentive management

The other functions of HRM are to define the right rewards and incentives for the staff. In Virgin, HRM assess and evaluate the employees’ productivity and performance and define incentives and rewards for them to motivate them in the workplace (Kainazarova, 2015)

Performance management

Defining appropriate methods and managing staff performance play key roles in motivating the staff at the workplace. HRM in Virgin uses different methods for evaluating the performance of staff and takes the necessary steps to reward the staff based on their performance. Effective performance management in Virgin supports its business to motivate the staff and retain and make loyal them towards the business (Kainazarova, 2015).

Employee relationship and engagement

Building up a stronger relationship and engage the staff within the business gives a huge opportunity to gain organizational goals and objectives. Virgin uses the HRM department to make long time relationships with the staff and engage them within the business for a long time. Thus, Virgin has gained improved staff retention and loyalty, productivity, and performance which have given huge success in the way of gaining Virgin’s goals (Kainazarova, 2015)…………….
