1.0 Introduction
Gore (2016) said that the Literature review is the discussion of the survey of some particular issues. This paper mainly focused on two topics: literature review and corporate social responsibilities. In the first section, the concept of the literature review is discussed. Along with the concept this part also emphasizes the purposes of literature review in a research paper. The importance and role of the literature review are also discussed in this part. The next part is about corporate social responsibilities. In this part firstly the concept of CSR is discussed. Then Carroll’s pyramid model of CSR is described. According to Carroll’s pyramid model, there are four types of CSR observed in business. After that, the importance of CSR in business is explained. Later the practice of CSR in Tesco plc is also emphasized. And finally, equality in the workplace as a part of CSR is discussed.

2.1 What is a literature review?
Bryman and Bell (2015) disclosed that the survey of books, scholarly articles, and other sources that are related to a certain issue and provides a description, summary, and critical evaluation is known as a literature review. It is an overview of the sources which have been studied related to the particular issue. It also provides a demonstration to the reader about the efficiency of the research. According to Bajpai (2011), generally, a literature review consists of a summary of the sources. In social science, a literature review is written in an organizational pattern and is includes both summary and synthesis even with particular abstract categories. A summary can be defined as the outline of the important information of the source. A synthesis is a re-organization of the information that is investigated for the research problem.

2.2 What does literature review achieve?
There are different purposes that are fulfilled by the literature review. For the understanding of the research problem, every work is placed according to its contribution. It describes the relation between every work that is required for the research. Bryman and Bell (2015) stated that the Literature review finds the process of understanding the previous research about the same topic. It also reveals the deficiency of the literature. The conflicts between apparently opposing prior studies can be resolved. The need for additional research can be found with the help of a literature review.
As Bajpai (2011)) notes, the Literature review is very important for a research paper. It provides the Justification of the reason for the research. It is very important in making a connection with the demonstration of the research field. It provides knowledge about the gap in the research field which allows us to cover up the gap for making the research more acceptable. It allows the reader to have knowledge about the importance of the different parts of the research. However, it is not enough to find a gap. It helps to build a theoretical framework and methodological focus.
The literature review provides an understanding of the erudite research of the particular topic. A literature review demonstrates the researchers’ knowledge about the topic. Bajpai (2011) notes It provides an overview of the entire research. It helps to find a deficiency of the research and also provides a way to recover it. It enables the researcher to make the research a scholarly paper. It also provides a synthesis of the topic, trends, and concepts adjacent to the research. A literature review is significant for the research. It is not a comprehensive history of the research. It is the process of giving a framework to the reader about research. The literature review is a recurrent process (Bryman and Bell, 2015)………………
