Task 2.1 Explain what is meant by ‘diversity’ in a business context
Today all around the world will have to come together all over the world. Many companies pride themselves in the interest of having a variety of personnel, which are involved in various types of experience and knowledge. The major features of workplace diversity include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, power, and sexual orientation. A company that embraces diversity can expand its expertise base and become more competitive and innovative. Workforce Diversity also brings a number of challenges to it (Study.com, 2017). There are some issues in diversity. So, the organization should take some challenges for diversity issues. When people give not support the opportunities on the basis of a personal characteristic on the job performance. This time discrimination causes great harm and is illegal in most cases.
It is normal that there will be tensions between people of different backgrounds, so different diversity management policies for employers are important. Most large companies have taken steps to develop diversity awareness and understanding. This diversity initiative contributes to a positive working environment that is free from discrimination. Let’s (Qurrnsborough, 2016). Ethnic and ethnic minorities may have different perspectives, customs, or attitudes in the workplace. These differences can be challenged by organizations for a well-organized employee relationship. Such challenges can be resolved through proper training and education.
Gender – Women have struggled to achieve equal pay for comparative work and to remove glass ceilings, an invisible barrier that places women and minorities in the rank of a senior manager. Women are facing gender discrimination and sexual harassment, such as sexual orientation or other abusive behavior of sexual nature. Although there has been a lot of progress to prevent such behavior, it still requires training and education.

Age – reflects the general difference between different workflow ages and the relationship between power or professional value and different perspectives. While allegations of age discrimination are not commonly referred to as gender and racial discrimination, the directors should certainly spread awareness and understanding of age differences in employment.
Religions – Religious diversity in the workplace promotes freedom of expression and religious disputes can create conflict for employees. Religious discrimination lawsuits are increasing, so it is another important area for management attention (Study.com, 2017).
Task 2.2 Recognise the benefits of having a diverse workforce
American employees reflect a growing diversified population; organizations must diversify to attract and maintain high-quality employees and create more collaborative, creative, and productive work environments. An important aspect of managing diversity is to respect and encourage all employees’ skills and perspectives (Peoria, 2010). There are a few steps an employer can take, these are described as below: Creating a policy on diversity and inclusion, and ensuring that all employees read and understand the policy.
Employer’s commitment to recognizing the skills and perspectives of different employees and employees is to provide training for all employees. Training the supervisors and managers in the diversity policy and how to create the situation suddenly, if they are raised, where differences between workers are creating conflict or interfering with productivity.
