1.0 Introduction
At present; the use of Information technology is increasing day by day in all sectors of a country. In most countries, the popularity of retailing business organizations is also increased. At this technology day; most of the retail businesses depend on information technology (Morris and Schindehutte, 2015). In this assignment; the necessity and impact of information technology (IT) on the performance of the retail sector is described. This assignment selects a retail sector firm that is the Marks and Spencer. Marks and Spencer is a British multinational retailer. In the 1st section; the assignment represents the related literature review on the Information technology sector. In the 2nd section; this assignment represents the impact of Information technology on Marks and Spencer as well as ethical and social issues of information technology. In the third section; this paper identifies the various networking technologies and the benefits of Intranet and Internet regarding the Marks and Spencer. In the final section of the assignment; the systems development stages are described briefly.
