This assignment has identified several strategies for developing reading and assignment writing skills. From this assignment, it has been found that the students need to follow the prediction reading, gist reading, Signpost reading, detailed reading, skimming and scanning strategy of reading and note-taking skills for developing the reading skills. After that, this assignment has notified that the assignment writing skills can be improved by the feedback strategy, time management skills, structure knowledge, correct grammar and spelling skills, proof-reading and correct referencing skills. This assignment also has recommended to the students for increasing their skills.
Students need to improve their study skills for getting a chance in higher education. Brock (2018) stated that reading and writing skills are important for a student to get a chance in higher education. This report is made due to making an analysis and discussion of reading and wiring skills. Firstly, this report identifies some key methods by which the students can improve their reading ability. After that, this assignment presents some suggestions that bring positive outcomes on the development of the quality of the students in the case of written assignments. Finally, the recommendations are presented for the students for increasing their reading and writing skills.

According to Michel (2019), Predicting is considered a significant and effective way of reading. In the process of prediction, the students predict knowledge from the titles, headings, pictures and diagrams (Bailey, 2015). At the time of prediction, students will predict the reading concept and make assumptions of what will happen next. Prediction reading identifies the main clues of a text and makes outcomes of text on the basis of personal experience (Pappa, 2018). Gist indicates the core factors of something. Brock (2018) stated that reading for gist is one of the important techniques of reading by which the students can make effective reading skills. Reading for the gist is also called skimming. GIST stands for Generating Interactions between Schemata and Texts that assist the students to understand the complex texts and matters (Raudenbush, 2018).
