Introduction
Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) is considered as one of the key terms in the success of a business. This report has focused on several issues of SHRM and applied in a particular company, called Greggs plc. This report first gives an overview of Greggs plc. Then, this report conducts a situational analysis of Greggs plc using different models and theories. Next, this report defines several HRM policies and rules for Greggs applying models and theories. Finally, the report gives recommendations for Greggs plc so that it can attract more talents from diverse backgrounds and retain them, and can improve barrier awareness mainly regarding cultural factors.
Company overview
Greggs plc is a famous retail food chain company. It has been offering quality and fresh foods for more than 70 years. It is operating in both domestic (UK) and international markets including the EU. At this moment, it has about 3000 shops across the UK, which are being dealt with by more than 25,000 dedicated and devoted staff and employees. Greggs is planning to introduce more than 100 shops across the UK by the next year, where it will create about 800 new jobs for the local people. Greggs treats its employees as its family members and provides attractive salaries and other incentives and rewards to retain and motivate them (Greggs Annual Report, 2015).
