A study by Anna (2018) indicated that managing the challenges that are posed to care for the elderly in today’s society is a very effective factor for both the elderly and the society. The main topic of this assignment is the challenges that are faced to care for the elderly pose in today’s society. This assignment includes two sections. Firstly, the first section identifies the main challenges for caring the elderly people in today’s society. In addition, the second section provides some solutions for overcoming the identified challenges.
Challenges caring for the elderly pose in today’s society
There are many challenges that face in caring for them elderly pose in today’s society. According to Family Matters (2018) notes, there are different challenges face in caring for the elderly pose. These challenges are physical and mental health challenges, financial security, elder abuse, and social isolation, and loneliness. In terms of physical and mental health, a number of elder people have good health and also able to work both physically and mentally. However, it is very challenging to care for the elderly. Most of the elders suffering from dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease. About 10% of elder people suffer from this disease at the age of 65 per year (Family Matters, 2018). Thus, it has become challenging to care for elder people who have both physical and mental sickness. On the other hand, the financial security of the elder people is the other challenge to care for them. At the elder age, most elder people lose their job or retire from their job. As a result, they focus on the fixed income that poses financial restrictions and creates a sometimes unexpected medical cost that can make them fall behind (Family Matters, 2018). This creates a challenge to care for the elderly without any financial security in today’s society.
In addition, at the elder age, a number of elder people are isolated from society and this makes them feel depressed and lonely. This makes it a great challenge to caring for the elderly because of their depressing and lonely attitude to society. Moreover, the effect of elder abuse can make it a challenge to care for the elderly in today’s society. Elder abuse includes physical violence, emotional/psychological abuse, financial exploitation, and neglect. Elder abuse poses a number of health risks even dying. Thus, elder abuse can make a challenge for caring for the elderly in today’s society.

As a result, is it very significant to adapt to the proper care home for the elderly to care for them in today’s society?
Solutions to overcome the challenges
There are a number of solutions to overcome the challenges. Thompson (2015) stated that by making high-quality health and social care to the elder people. A number of elder people are isolated from the family and also neglected by the family. This results in low social care. On the other hand, because of the financial challenges, they face poor health care in the elder age. Thus, it is essential to provide high-quality health and social care to the elderly in today’s society (Thompson, 2015). On the other hand, a number of elder people are connected with frailty that creates emotional issues among them. Thus, reducing frailty among elder people can help to overcome the challenges.
In the elder age, the elderly are not able to work for a lengthy time.
