Knowledge and experience from this module
This module has developed my understanding and knowledge of several issues, theories and models related to business.
First of all, I have developed my concept of performance management in a business from this module. I have gained knowledge from this module that performance management is a key process of ensuring employee performance and developing business operations. In addition, I have gained my knowledge on effective performance management which is very significant to develop employee performance and organizational effectiveness. I have also gained my understanding of how performance management helps an organization to develop the performance plan by concentrating on the goals and objectives of a business organization. On the other hand, Along with performance issues of the employee, performance management of a business organization incorporates the strategic planning of a business and helps to determine the values, vision, mission and strategic goals of a business.
Second, I have developed my concept on performance measurement in a business from this module. I have also gained knowledge from this module that performance measurement is an essential factor to determine business operations’ progress and the business activities’ outcome in contrast to the organizational goals and objectives. In addition, I have also learned from this module that business performance can be measured properly if the performance measurement tools, as well as performance management processes, work effectively in a business. On the other hand, I have gained my understanding on effective performance measurement that can differentiate a business’s present outcome compared to the expected outcome, develop business performance baseline, define different organizational changes as well as the improvement which are necessary for a business, monitor the organizational processes and their improvement, and recognize the improved performance for a business.
Third, I have developed my understanding and knowledge from this module that how business performance can help to develop communication with its stakeholders. From this module, I have learnt that business performance is very significant to develop good communication with the business stakeholders that can help business organizations to achieve its goals and objectives. In addition, this module has supported me to gain knowledge on different business risks. I have also gained my knowledge from this module that how different risks of a business are managed properly. Moreover, I have gained my understanding and knowledge on different financial issues of a business. I have learned how to manage different financial issues to develop business performance effectively.
Fourth, this module has developed my understanding of the concept of quality management of a business, and how it provides the guarantee of business operations’ quality. From this module, I have gained my knowledge on different quality programs of a business that helps to identify the quality of the organizational operations. The well-known quality program of a business is Total Quality Management (TQM). On the other hand, I have developed my knowledge and understanding from this module on how to improve the quality of business operations to meet the goals and objectives of an organization. The key evidence of this module has disclosed that business organizations that are capable to maintain their business quality effectively can ensure leadership quality, quality of the products and services which lead to achieving goals, objectives, vision and mission of a business organization.
Last, of all, I have gained my knowledge and understanding of both the staff perspective and the customer perspective of a business. This module has supported me to develop my knowledge of the perspectives of customers and staff to manage business performance. Customers and staffs both are significant factors for a business organization to develop organizational performance to meet the goals and objectives properly. Moreover, I have developed my experience, knowledge and understanding of different organizational models and theories related to performance management and performance measurement. Furthermore, I have developed my knowledge of how to implement these models and theories to maintain business performance by focusing on the organizational goals and objectives effectively.
How knowledge and experiences gained from this module have developed my skills career-wise
I have gained knowledge from this module that helps me to develop my skills and understanding of the implementation of different theories or models in terms of business operations to manage business performance. The skills will help me in my future to use these models and theories in my workplace or job. Moreover, these skills will help me to implement the models or theories in my own business. On the other hand, from this module, I have developed my different management skills in different sections such as performance management, performance measurement and quality management. Finally, this module has developed my communication skill, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, report writing skills and critical thinking skills.
The challenges I faced in the learning process in this module
From this module, I have faced a number of challenges. First of all, I have learned different models and theories related to business performance management. This was a very hard time for me to understand and implement different models and theories in a particular business context. For this, I have given many times to understand these models and access different resources such as books, journals and articles. Then, it has become easy for me to implement these models and theories. Secondly, I faced difficulties doing the tasks that are given by my module teacher because the first time I found it very complex. However, I have become able to conduct my coursework properly.
Though I have faced different challenges in this module, I have gained knowledge on different things from this module. Primarily, this module has improved my understanding, experience and knowledge of several business theories and models and also helped me how to implement these models or theories in business. This understanding and knowledge ultimately have improved my performance skills, management skills, performance measurement skill, leadership skill and different interpersonal skills. I believe that these skills will help me in the future to develop my career properly.
