In the healthcare sector, most workplaces are turned into collaborative leadership. The use of collaborative leadership helps the team members for attaining the organizational goals and objectives and makes the healthcare centers patient-centered, safe as well as effective care (McDonough and Doucette, 2012). By establishing patient-centered healthcare, the healthcare center can meet the demands of the people. The objective of using the collaborative leadership method by inter-professional education is to attain the vision and mission of the healthcare center (Wong and Cummings, 2014). In reality, healthcare leaders, as well as educators, have to identify the cultures, systems as well as infrastructures position to know about the healthcare centers. It is also necessary to know that collaboration is very much useful for healthcare organizations. Healthcare organizations also need to establish new tools, resources as well as technology to meet up the demand of the patients (Van et al., 2014).
Leadership and management in nursing with their theories and/or models
At present, the different organization uses different types of leadership methods like servant leadership, transformational Leadership, autocratic Leadership and collaborative leadership. The style of servant leadership can be defined as the style of developing the lives of the servant, developing the environment of the organization and make a better relationship with Servants (Yukl, 2015). 2016, Robert Greenleaf mentioned the servant leadership style and this leader make a better relationship with servants and influence and inspire the all team members in an efficient manner. A successful leader has the ability to understand the requirements of team members and made up of strong relationships with them. The leaders are very much aware of the requirement of the team members (Mullins, 2014). The main qualities of the servant leader may include, Listening to the problems and speech of the servant; Acceptance the problems and speech of the team members; Awareness about the needs of team members; Persuasion ability; Foresight capability; and creating a strong relationship with team members (Bass, 2016).
Another important style of leadership is considered Transformational Leadership. The main feature of this style is to make a strong relationship with team members and inspire them by using various ways especially by sharing the vision and mission of the firm (Bass, 2016). The main responsibility of transformational leaders is to make a strong relationship with team members by sharing the vision and mission of the firm and increase their confidence level to do the job. Therefore the qualities of the transformational leader may include the capability of sharing views, motivating others, raise the confidence level of the team members and ability to create relation (Mullins, 2014).
The democratic style of leadership is also a very supportive style of leadership in an organization. Especially, the team members like this style. The main feature of this style is that lower-level team members can participate in the decision-making process of the firm (Mullins, 2014). This type of leadership method is very similar to transformational leadership. In this leadership style, the lower-level workers get enough opportunity to raise their confidence level and decision-making power. The qualities of a democratic leader include attractiveness, foresight, tolerance power, the capability to motivate others etc, hardworking and teamwork (Yulk, 2015).
Authoritarian or Autocratic style of leadership is regarded as a common style of leadership in an organization. The main feature of this style is that the team members or workers can’t participate in the decision-making process of the firm (Bass, 2016). Here, the leader is all in all. He takes all the decisions of the firm without the consent of others. In this leadership style, the lower-level workers don’t get enough opportunity to raise their confidence level and decision-making power. The qualities of an autocratic leader include the power of controlling others, authority to take responsibility, and controlling capability, and decisions making capability (Yulk, 2015). On the contrary; Laissez-faire Leadership can be defined as the process by which a leader does not give direction to do something and workers can make their decision personally (Wong and Cummings, 2014).
Collaborative Leadership can be defined as the type of leadership by which leaders and workers are performing jobs in a collaborative way. In these days of competition, Collaborative Leadership is more useful than other methods of leadership (Bass, 2016). This type of leadership helps to create new ideas, opinions and other positive factors that largely affect the firm positively. This leadership technique makes the workers smarter, more creative, and more competent than another style of leadership (Linden, 2013)……………….
