Unit 1: LO 4

4.1 Identify risk within your place of work

The name of my workplace is Burger King. Burger King is the world’s second-biggest fast-food hamburger company. It provides affordable and high-quality foods to its customers. I have been working in Burger King for the previous 3 years. There are several risks and hazards in Burger King. Cooking fire is one of them (Burger King, 2018).

Cooking Fire is one of the most well-known risks in the food industry like Burger King. Fire hazards can cause serious harm to Burger King. Burger King establishes the fire system which contains smoke detectors, fire control panels, pull stations, duct detectors, alarms set in various areas in the Burger King workplace. The fire control panel is utilized to observe the alarms of fire through Burger King Workplace and has a backup of the battery. The alarm system in placed several places in Burger King. Smoke detectors are responsive in order to heat, dust, and smoke. Smoke detectors are situated in the room ceiling of some storage rooms, equipment rooms, back of house areas, and room corridors (Myntz, 2018). Duct detectors are the detectors of smoke situated in air conditioning and heating ducts.

These detectors contain isolated indicators as location creates it not practical order to observe the units of the detector. (The remote indicators are the same as in emergence to home light switches –mounted walls and same size but should be metal). The duct detector would generate the zone indicator on the control panel of fire when in alarm. The alarm contains a small red lump on the remote indicator (Myntz, 2018). Pull station is physical stations which are situated in customers places by exits, generate the zone indicator in the control panel of fire and sound audio able and sound system alarm in that zone. Additionally, the keys of the fire runner and all keys which the Fire Department might require are situated, behind glass in the red Loss Prevention box by the fire control panel. The Fire Assignment Log and the fire assignments are situated by the fire control panel (Myntz, 2018).

4.2 Identify the source of the risk

Types of Fires
