Introduction
The reflective essay helps to understand the overview of learning from a certain task (Matrix Education, 2020). This essay evaluates my own abilities in team building. Then, this essay reflects on my acquired team-building skills. Finally, it reflects the research skills I have required during the process of implementing the team tasks.
Evaluating my own team-building skills
Team-building skills are needed to develop and manage a team in an effective way by which the goals of teamwork can be fulfilled (Chapman, 2017). I have some strengths as well as weaknesses of team-building skills. From the theoretical concept of Tuckman’s Team Development theory, I have developed the team to attain the team goals. By following this theory, I have used four stages of developing the team. The Tuckman theory includes four steps of team development including forming, storming, norming, and performing (Chapman, 2017). Firstly, I have followed the forming stage to develop a team to make it familiar among the team members. Then I have followed the storming stage to eliminate the criticism, conflict and power of the team members. Then, I have followed the Norming stage to create corporate culture and relationships among the team members. At the final stage, I have followed the performing stage to perform team roles for achieving the team goals.
Belbin’s Team Roles theory is an important theory to find the actual roles of the team members. The nine roles are included in this theory. The roles include people, action and thinking-oriented roles (Mindtools, 2019). The people-oriented roles contain 3 roles including monitor evaluator, specialist, and plant. The action-oriented roles contain 3 roles including implementer, completer finisher, and shaper. The thinking-oriented roles also contain 3 roles including resource investigator, team-worker and coordinator (Patrick, 2018). I have performed people-oriented roles and monitored all functions of the team to make an effective team.

I have performed people-oriented tasks in our team. I have acted as monitor evaluator and specialist for the team. I have prepared a plan for setting up the team works and created the relationship among the team members. I have also distributed the responsibilities towards the team members and motivated them in an effective way for achieving our team goals. I have monitored the performance of the team members by comparing actual and standard levels of performance. I have also acted as a specialist to provide suggestions to the team members when they faced any barriers or problems. I have inspired the team members to avoid conflicts and corporate policies to make our team successful. I have also coordinated the team members at the time of doing the roles of the team.
Team skills are required in order to complete the tasks
Sedem, N. (2017) stated that Team skills are very important to accomplish the team roles effectively. Firstly, a team member required effective communication skills by which he can communicate with the other team members about the problems. Effective communication is also needed to create a good relationship among the team members. Honyenuga (2018) noted that a team member also needs the team-building method to make a team in an efficient way. Then, a team member requires knowledge about the team roles to perform all the roles in an efficient way. The team member also has enough skills of doing something effectively. Problem-solving and leadership skills are required in order to complete the tasks of the team successfully. I have acquired enough team skills by which I have completed my tasks in the team.
How I managed to achieve \the tasks and team goals
In the case of teamwork, there are several tasks and goals that need to accomplish by the team members. I have managed several tasks, challenges and barriers in the teamwork. I have arranged efficient team-building methods and created a good connection with the team members. I have distributed all tasks to the team members with proper guidelines for performing. I have made my mind cool and refreshed to face the challenges of teamwork. I have motivated the team members to give their best efforts in the workplace by sharing knowledge and ideas among them. I have managed and resolved the conflicts among the team members by proper monitoring of the team members.
Research skills I have required during the process of implementing the team tasks
Research skills are very important for every section of life. Team working is one of the important sources because team tasks help to develop research skills (Sedem, 2017). At the time of collecting, organizing and analyzing information during the process of implementing the team tasks, the research skills are improved (Patrick, 2018). I have performed tasks as a specialist in the team. For this reason, I have studied and checked several documents, journals, reports and other related information that lead to increased my research skills. Additionally, I have made several decision of team by analyzing several factors that also lead to increase my research skills. I have analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the team member for increasing strengths and decreasing the weaknesses by which I have gained enough knowledge about the research. At present, I have known the method of collecting data for the research and doing research to solve the problems of the team.
Conclusion
The summary of the reflective essay demonstrated the overview of learning from teamwork. I have found that I have acquired several abilities of team building by the following Tuckman’s Team Development Theory. This essay also reflected my acquired team-building skills and managing process and goal achievement of the team. Finally, this essay also reflected the research skills that I have required during the process of implementing the team tasks.
