Introduction
In every business organization; operation and management are considered as the most important issues that indicate the firm’s strength (Carpenter and Erdogan, 2014). In this paper, the operation and management of Toyota plc identify and describes the management roles and characteristics as well as and leadership roles and characteristics within the firm. Additionally; this paper mentions the theories as well as models of leadership. This paper also describes the importance and value of operations management in achieving business objectives.
This assignment also identifies the factors of the business environment that affect operational management and decision-making by leaders and managers. The operational strengths and weaknesses of the managers and leaders of the Toyota plc are also described. In the last part; this paper suggests recommendations to ensure the quality of operation and management in the organization.

P1. Define and compare the different roles and characteristics of a leader and a manager
Manager: Managers are those who manage the whole activities of the organization for attaining the targeted aim and objectives of the firm. The first role of a manager is planning; the second role is organizing, the third role is staffing, the fourth role is motivating, the fifth role is coordinating and the sixth role is controlling the subordinates. Managers are the key persons who make the decisions and policies regarding the organization (Mintzberg, 2015). After taking the decision; the managers distribute the responsibilities to the final subordinates and observe the whole tasks up to the final accomplishment of the goals of the firm.

Leaders: Leaders are also regarded as the key persons of the firm who lead the subordinates for attaining the targeted aim and objectives of the firm (Ambuyo and Amukowa, 2014). Differences between the managers and leaders
According to Pal and Bansal (2014), Managers are those who manage the whole activities of the organization for attaining the targeted aim and objectives of the firm. The combination of manager and leader’s roles helps an organization to achieve the ultimate target (Lin and McDonough, 2016). The use of an effective model of management and leadership style helps the firm to achieve the ultimate target of Toyota Plc. Toyota Plc is facing various situations including the rising price of fuel, raw materials, and equipment. To overcome these situations, the managers and leaders are very much concerned about these issues in advance. The strategic strategies should be prepared for overcoming the situational barriers.
Enescu (2016) stated that the management theories are categorized under various types as well as a leadership style is various types. The mangers of Toyota Plc must be focused on the theories of the management as well as the effective efforts of the leader for ensuring the better achievement of the activities of the Toyota.
