Sainsbury’s is one of the leading retail and grocery chain supermarkets in the UK. This is the 2nd biggest retail firm in the UK, whereas Tesco is holding the first position. Sainsbury’s is capturing 16% of the UK retail market, whereas its main competitor, Tesco, is capturing 28% of the UK retail market. The business operation is totally IT-based within the Sainsbury workplace. The company copes with the modern trends and fashion of technology and provides several technological solutions, services at the office.
1.1 Purpose
This report aims to demonstrate the various aspects and process functions of Sainsbury based on Information Technology and its tools like several types of networks. Firstly, the report discusses several kinds of Networking Technologies by the business such as Local area networks, Wide Area networks, metropolitan area networks, wireless fidelity networking devices and tools and systems for various business purposes, ethics and social issues connected to the uses of Technologies. This easy first reviews literature on information technologies and their roles in the current business world, and other IT-related topics. Then, this paper analyses and discusses the role of informational technologies and the uses of different information technologies in the case of businesses like Sainsbury’s.

Sainsbury operates an online business and shopping service typically Sainsbury’s Online. To use this service, the customers search the products in several engines and choose their groceries online, or searches by phone application. Internet users are increasing tremendously worldwide. The sociocultural people use internet-based services from the Sainsbury business. The customers love the company and their services largely and in the pandemic situation by coronavirus worldwide this rate is increasing largely. Sainsbury’s also serves Sainsbury’s Gift Cards to the consumers and Sainsbury’s Business Direct shipping websites that sell gift vouchers, gift cards, and food tokens with points by consumer identity cards or value (SAINSBURY, 2020). So, the company uses several technologies and internet connections. The business to operate an internet-based business needs strong management of several networking systems.

2.1 Information Technology and its role
Information technology covers most of our daily routine works. Users from all walks of life go through a web of several technological tools. From the morning to the time going to bed, the individuals are accustomed to carrying out their activities by the use of technology. Several business operations like production, products distributing, storing, processing, manipulating of database and management of information in modern businesses. Modern approaches of business need to establish and launching their websites for online business such as software programming, documentation, worksheet preparation, and office programming, computer-based designing like brands image, company’s logo, and business cards (ELPROCUS, 2020). Database management and manipulation technology define the business growth, finds the strengths and opportunities for the business segmentation and marketing, products values and customer needs evaluation. Presently, email and social media marketing strategies by the business require the business and management technologically developed.
2.2 Different Types of Networking Technologies
The network work technologies are mainly classified as wide area networks, metropolitan area networks, and wide-area networks.
