1.0 Introduction
Samsung is one of the leading manufacturers and sellers in the global mobile industry. It has been growing up slowly and steadily with revenue and profits. Samsung is now leading the Smartphone market by gaining 33% of the total Smartphone market in the global market, whereas its key competitor, Apple is operating in the global market with 17% of market share (Oremus, 2016). However, Samsung is facing challenges to retain its customers and brand image. The key challenge is coming from its new version of the Smartphone, Galaxy Note 7. This paper critically analyses the international business environment for its Smartphone. Then, this paper analyses supply chain management (SCM), and corporate social responsibilities (CSR) of Samsung.
2.0 International Business Environment
According to Kotler et al. (2015), PESTLE is one of the effective tools to analyze the macro-environmental factors of a business. This tool analyzes six key factors that are political factors, economic factors, social factors, technological factors, legal factors, and environmental factors. However, Palmer (2015) said this tool can only analyze the external factors; it cannot analyze the internal issues. Therefore, organizations need to depend on other tools and models for analyzing the internal factors of their business.

Legal factors in term of Samsung
According to Ghosh (2016), Samsung is facing a big legal challenge with its Smartphone. This is because after the exploding of 92 devices the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the US has banned the new selling of Samsung Galaxy Note 7. This legal issue has forced Samsung to recall 1 million Galaxy Notes 7 from the US market that was the cause of about £3.8 billion revenue loss in 2016. Although a study by Samsung found batter problems in its Galaxy Note 7, its customers thought those smartphones have problems. Thus, Samsung has lost many of its retained and loyal customers. On the other hand, this issue has given the opportunity to Samsung’s key competitor, Apple, whereas Apple gained huge success with its iPhone 7 in 2016 (Gilbert, 2016).
Then, according to MSG (2017), Samsung faced a big penalty because of its alleged imitation of Apple’s iPhone and iPad that has significantly affected the consumer approval of its strategies and public perceptions. PESTLEanalysis Contributor (2015) said this legal issue has worsened the image of Samsung because it has hampered consumer approval of its strategies. Adamkasi (2016) stated that many electronic companies cannot avoid penalties for copyright issues. This is because the government has imposed several rules and regulations on infringements, copyrights, and patents for the betterment of companies and their customers (Kotler et al., 2015). The same thing has been in the case of the Samsung business. Samsung has faced electronic device safety regulations, wireless communication regulations. Apple put 6 allegations against Samsung in 2011 of copying its touch zoom concept and another kind of infringement. These allegations were proven in court in 2012 that was the cause of about $1 billion fine for Samsung…………
