Introduction
Idea generation is a creative procedure for innovation. Idea generation is to enable and enrich the thinking power of humans with a set of creative development and communicating to make introduce us to visualization. Idea management involves idea generation and this part of idea management concerns solving problems or issues. Both tangible and intangible idea works for critical analysis of a problem. But selecting the best ideas from among all is a challenge (Abourizk, n.d.).
Discussion
Idea generation provides a scope to come forward with new and ideas regarding major problems. Some of the reasons why idea generation is necessary are:
- The idea generation diversifies our knowledge. We will be more interested to learn and know different criteria.
- It enhances and enriches our viewpoints. After identifying problems, the power of seeing different, the power of analyzing differently will enhance.
- Experience is another advantage of idea generation. We utilize our skills for a better experience.
- Group discussion will help to give and receive feedback from others so that they can reform the ideas and develop a better one.
- Productivity is maximized by a wide range of new ideas. When a group works with under-skilled and experienced brainstorming leaders, groups can generate maximum effectiveness.
- Different views cause different possibilities. New ideas also alert new risks related to the ideas. This will assist in risk management (Smartstorming, 2018)
Idea generation is effective from a sided view. But some cases have proved the brainstorming procedure is not the best way to take a chance from the opportunity. It has some cons too from the other viewpoint. Here are some cons of idea generation are stated:
- Idea generation with the team can promote conflicts and arguments. The different viewpoints, knowledge, and assumptions create different ideas. Here another party may not be comfortable with the ideas. Fight and augments come from the differences.
- Idea generation becomes effective while all the factors are present. But the absence of some factors can abolish the idea. Sometimes lack of proper knowledge and understanding cannot shape a solution though it is effective.
- It will not perform a good impact on all cases. The idea comes from different stages of people, different cultures, different sex, and different personalities. So their ideas will affect more to their own culture, stage, and their personality (Garage, 2016).
Evaluation
Allianz Company UK provides an idea management platform to retain innovation. Idea management is a platform to enable this firm to generate innovation from a large number of employees. managers face difficulties due to deploying those platforms but they believe that idea generate procedure increases business value. Allianz keeps an idea management sector where employees innovate different ideas regarding difficult issues. They believe, the process enables their employees to use opportunities properly and their knowledge, skills, and experience make them competent (Researchgate, 2018).
From the advantage, the company survey also states that they are continuing with the procedure of innovation. Though their brainstorming causes several difficulties but regarding them as a challenge, Allianz company keeps concerned about idea generation as they find new ways for the employees to solve any problems. This will enrich the employee’s productivity and experience and declare several risks on how a company can take contingency actions.
Decision and Justification
From the discussion, it can be said that the idea generation has more advantages than a disadvantage. Innovation is a certain element of an organization that exploits changes as an opportunity. Creativity is to think new and update when innovation comes from creativity. one can think creatively about existing problems and the solution.
The creative approach leads to new ideas. This doesn’t mean the idea is the best, moreover, this means the idea can be the best. Among all ideas, some ideas are selected as the best and can be implemented as a solution. This encourages the employees to keep faith in the organization and build self-confidence as they are important for the organization. To ensure proper human mind development, idea generation has half of the contribution (Yourarticlelibrary, n.d.).
Conclusion
The first step towards improvement is idea generation. It defines human creativity with communication and shaping by visualization. The idea management sector works significantly and continuously to solve any type of business process. Business is in a position where anything can happen. It is impossible for one person to discover the right solutions. Idea generation provides scopes for all to suggest as a group, as an individual, and as a leader. However, conflict is a major challenge to the procedure, the possibility of the ineffective and inappropriate process is remaining. Above all most organizations practice it as the most successful approach.
