ABSTRACT
This report has described the HRM practices in the business organization of ASDA. The first part of the report has described the related views on the management of the human resource for every business organization. After that, this report evaluated the recruitment and selection process efficiency, employees’ management and development system and HR systems along with the procedures of the business organization. The next part of the report has mentioned the employee development system in ASDA, performance management of ASDA and HR systems and procedures in ASDA. The report has helped to understand the need of HRM for the attainment of the business objectives including ASDA. The strategic way of managing human resources has great importance to manage all personnel of ASDA and attain the goals of the business.

1.0 Introduction
According to Hook (2018), Human resource is one of the vital production factors in any kind of organization, especially for business organizations. The selection process of human resources is a crucial task for every business organization because success depends on the effective staffing function. There are several processes to recruit the new employees and distribute their responsibilities through providing training and development. The employers and employees have several responsibilities to maintain the business activities according to prescribed formula for achieving the business mission and vision. This report represents the human resource management of ASDA. The 1st part of the report analyses the related views on the management of the human resource for every business organization. After that, this report evaluates the recruitment and selection process efficiency, employees’ management and development system and HR systems along with the procedures.
The recruitment process contains job analysis, job description, job advertisement, person Specification, application form, CV and contracts of employment. This report also focuses on the selection process, the responsibility of employees and responsibilities of employers ASDA and the method of talent management approaches of ASDA. This report covers all information about the laws and regulations to ensure employee health and safety and strategic human resource management in ASDA. The training and development techniques are also presented in the performance management of ASDA. In the next part of the report, the employee development system in ASDA, performance management of ASDA and HR systems and procedures in ASDA is presented. The report helps to understand the need for human resource management for the attainment of the business objectives including ASDA. The strategic way of managing human resources has great importance to manage all personnel of ASDA and attain the goals of the business. 1.1 Overview of Asda
Asda Stores Ltd. has operated its business functions as Asda. It is recorded as a British supermarket retailer in 1949. The headquarters is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire (ASDA, 2020). Walmart is the parent organisation of Asda. The name of the chief executive officer is Roger Burnley. In April 2020, this retailer has several locations approximately 631 stores all over the UK. The founder of this retailer was Noel Stockdale, J.W. Hindell. The key factor is the number of employees who are working for this company approximately 165,000 (ASDA, 2020). ASDA also offers several kinds of services to the customers including grocery products, general merchandise along financial services. In 2019, this company had received a high amount of revenue and operating income. The amount of net income was £21,666 million and the amount of operating income was £791.7 million in 2019 (ASDA, 2020). This company has high qualified staff to produce and services quality products and services to the consumers. The recruitment process of the company is also very strict to follow the prescribed formulas because this company believed that success depends on the effective staffing function and effective human resource management. ASDA has used a better employee development system, performance management and HR systems to manage HR and achieve goals.

Job analysis
In the first step of the recruitment process, the business organization needs to analyze the job to find the necessary positions in the organization (Chand, 2018). The job analysis helps to identify the potential scope of a position, responsibilities of the position and the amount of personnel to fill the position.
Job description
After job analysis, the second task of the recruitment process describes the job with its title, structure, purpose, duties, performance measurement system training system and other detailed information about the job (Smrti Chand, 2018).
Job advertisement
After describing the job effectively, the business firms need to advertise the vacancy of the necessary posts on several platforms including notice boards, newspapers, minority press, agencies, careers centers, Radio, TV and another telecast, online and other potential sources (Chand, 2018).
Person Specification
Chand (2018) stated that the business firms need to mention the specification of the potential applicants who are eligible for the post. It includes characteristics of candidates that the companies look for.
Application Form
In the recruitment process, an application form is needed to get the information of the potential job seekers. An application should be in a standard format. The application can be submitted online or a paper method. A sample of the application form of Asda is presented below:
CV
CV stands for curriculum vitae (CV). In the process of recruitment, a CV is an important part to get information about the potential applicants. Chand (2018) stated that the CV contains the information of the participants including personal information with educational background and qualifications of the job seekers. The CV contents should be more attractive by which organizations can easily find quality employees from a large number of job seekers.
Contracts of employment
The recruitment process contains a contract by which employees have to know the rights, roles and responsibilities of their posts (Smrti Chand, 2018). In an employment contract, there are some terms and conditions are mentioned that act as future evidence for both parties in the recruitment process including employer and employee.
2.1.2 Selection process
After completing the activities of the recruitment process, business organizations need to start the selection process of staffing. Guest (2014) stated that the selection process can include different ideas shown in the diagram below:
Firstly, the selection process starts from identifying the investigating the background Information about the applicants including educational background, previous job sectors and other sections (Iedunote, 2017). Secondly, the interview is taken to analyze the condition of the applicants. The interview can be taken as structured way or unstructured. But, a structured way is more effective than an unstructured interview. Then, business firms have to test the physical abilities like strength & endurance power of the applicants.
