Business communication refers to the process of sharing information, maintaining and managing business information to gain organizational success. This paper focuses on different issues related to business communication. In the first section, different kinds of business information are discussed along with their sources and purposes. In the second section, three particular methods of business information are discussed. In the third part, the corporate communication of Tesco is discussed through a leaflet. In the fourth section, two real-life external corporate communication are outlined. Then, the legal, ethical and operational issues related to Tesco business are discussed. Tesco plc is a British-based international grocery and general merchandising retail chain. It is the largest British retailer by both global sales and domestic market share with profits exceeding £3 billion. It is currently the third-largest global retailer based on revenue, behind Wal-Mart and France’s Carrefour but second largest based on profit, ahead of Carrefour. Tesco has more than 500,000 staff who serve millions of customers every week. Tesco is generally specialized in food and drink, it has diversified into areas such as clothing, consumer electronics, financial services, telecoms; home, health and car insurance; dental plans, retailing and renting DVDs, CDs, music downloads, Internet services, and software (Tesco, 2016).

The key purpose of verbal information is to update the knowledge of individuals so that they could acquire more information, to communicate, inform and develop business operations.
Then, one of the purposes of written information is to provide a permanent record of the messages that have been sent and can be saved for later study. Since they are permanent, written forms of information also enable recipients to take more time in reviewing the message and providing appropriate feedback.
