The first case was traced in December but now the numbers of cases are approximately 7.66 million. There are countries both big and small that have been suffering immensely from this virus. The UK is one of the countries that have suffered the most from this virus. In January 2020, COVID-19 was found in the UK, and till then 2 million people have been affected by this virus. It took the lives of 41 thousand people there. For this virus, their government announced lockdown in the whole country which was an absolutely necessary decision for the survival of mankind. However, this move has been proven quite risky for the economic job market (Alex, 2020).
Impact of Covid-19 on UK job market in near future
The ongoing Covid-19 spread in the UK dangerously. It affected millions of human lives, while many are fighting with death. After encountering this horrible situation, the UK government gave the country an indefinite lockdown and stated that everyone must stay at home until the end of the spread of this virus. The decision of the government was helpful for everyone’s life but became risky for the country’s economic job market. For this lockdown, there will be a negative impact on job markets in the future. The lockdown was imposed in May 2020. Following that, the economy went down roughly 30 percent (Tera, 2020). According to Marc (2020), 23 percent of businesses were temporarily stopped in April. As a consequence, the near future must face a big impact on the job market of the UK.
The UK is one of the affected countries in the job market due to this Coronavirus pandemic outbreak. The hospitality and catering industry are majorly affected by this situation. During the lockdown, around 7.7 million people are in danger. People and places with low income are always in fear of job loss. Almost 50 percent of all jobs are at risk. Besides, the institute of student employers may face crucial problems in the future job market. It is still unsure what the graduate student will do in case of their graduate role or internship (Methew, 2020). Hence; the Covid-19 will have a worse impact on the near future of the UK’s job market.
Conclusion
In this study, there is a clear vision that the UK is facing and will continue facing a massive downfall. The job market of the UK is falling apart and it is quite risky for the future economic environment. If the government is not taking any serious steps starting from now, the futures market will be destroyed rapidly. The students, as well as the people of the UK, must be careful about this.
