1.0 Introduction
Management and leadership both are considered interconnected terms. Any change in management structure and leadership styles affects the business activities and culture (Bratton, 2016). This report represents the several issues of management and leadership for a well-brand company named Tesco. Tesco is a grocery shop that operates its business in several countries with a huge amount of employees and customers (Tesco, 2020). This report firstly focuses on the differences between personnel and human resource management and the necessity of an HRM strategy for meeting the goals of Tesco. Then it identifies the personal management and leadership skills that would enable me to contribute to the achievement of the strategic goals of Tesco with the personal development plan. Then, this report measures the impact of Tesco’s operational structure and culture with the human resource contribution to meet Tesco’s objectives. Finally, this paper sketches out a customer relationship plan and determines the capacity management system in Tesco.
2.0 Differentiate between personnel management and human resource management (HRM) approaches within Tesco and show how human resource management strategy in Tesco corresponds with its organizational objectives

Roles of HRM on achieving strategic goals, the role of human capital, and HR processes
According to Atkinson (2017), HRM represents Human Resource Management that can be defined as the management of people by which the main target of the business can be attained. HRM has a significant role in attaining the strategic objectives of the business firm. The HRM has also great contribution in attaining the strategic objectives of the business firm. The human capital is also managed by proper human resource management. Human resource management follows a certain process of recruiting, training, leading, motivating and monitoring the human resource functions in the organization. HRM formulates the policies of managing human resources and implement the policies accordingly to the attainment of the strategic objectives of the business. Tesco PLC has a strong HR department that formulates the policies of managing human resources and implements the policies for attaining the goals of the business.
Differences between HRM and Personnel Management in terms of Tesco business
Human Resource Management can be defined as the management of people by which the main target of the business can be attained. It is a new pattern of personnel management (Atkinson, 2017). It is concerned with the acquisition, development, motivation, and monitors the human capital of the business. It performs the roles for goal achievement. In this system, the staff is getting more opportunities to take training and personal development (Bratton, 2016). HRM connects with managers of all sections including top to bottom.
Steven (2017) stated that personnel management is considered a traditional method of managing people. It is concerned with personnel maintenance and employee welfare along with the labor relation. It performs the roles for satisfying the employees of the organization. In this system, staff are getting fewer opportunities to take training and personal development. Personnel management connects with only personnel managers (Bratton, 2016). Tesco has more concerned with its human resource management because it is a modern technique of managing people. Tesco has arranged a quality recruitment process, development process, motivation techniques, and monitoring system of the human capital of the business. Human Resource Management can be defined as the management of people by which the main target of the business can be attained. On the other hand, business strategy is the tool of implementing the plans into action by which business firms can gain the ultimate objectives. Effective HRM impacts the business strategy in a positive way. Johnson (2018) stated that HRM helps to recruit more qualified staff in the business firm and arrange adequate training facilities for the new as well as old staff by which they can implement the business strategies inaccurate formula. In the case of Tesco, the HR department assists in creating a more favorable business strategy and leading the employees according to prescribe a formula to achieve the business strategy.
Relationship between human capital management and business performance
Human capital management indicates the management of people resources. This management manages the workforce acquisition, management and optimization. Business performance depends on proper human capital management because human resources are key factors of running business activities (Baligh, 2018).
