1.0 Introduction
In terms of business, communication means the sharing of information between the people of an organization that brings commercial benefits for that organization (Bovee, 2016). According to McLean (2017), business communication refers to how a business organization shares information effectively to promote the products/services to its existing as well as potential customers. Firstly this assignment provides a literature review where the purpose and principles of different forms of organizational communication, principles of effective communication, and evaluation of communication practices are explained.
Secondly, this assignment gives an analysis and discussion whereas a Marketing Director of Hotel Sinhala I am looking for better cooperation between different departments of Hotel Sinhala, thus I have to provide effective recommendations are provided how to facilitate inter-departmental cooperation and discuss different types of communication barriers that are faced by Hotel Sinhala and discuss how to overcome the communication.
2.0 Literature review
2.1 Describe and analyze the purposes and principles behind different forms of organizational communication
Kaul (2018) said that effective business communication means the managers of an organization enables information that is sharing between the employees of that organization which brings commercial success. In addition, effective business communication is a key factor in organizational success. Organizational communication has different forms. According to Chand (2018), in terms of organizational structure, there is formal and informal communication. In terms of direction, organizational communication is horizontal communication, upward communication, and downward communication. In terms of expression, organizational communication is oral communication and written communication. Different forms of organizational communication have different purposes and principles.

The key purpose of all types of communication is to understand the information. There are some common purposes of different forms of organizational communication which are explained as follows:
The flow of information: Information must flow from the top level to the bottom level in an organization. The staff of different organizational levels must be informed about organizational information to make effective communication (Vickey, 2018).
Coordination: The key purpose of different forms of organizational communication is coordination. The staff of all departments of an organization working together and can be coordinated to accomplish the goals of the organization.
Developing good human relation: Both managers and staffs of an organization work together in an organization where they share ideas, perceptions, and thoughts through different forms of communication that helps them to understand each other, and to develop good human relation at the workplace (Vickey, 2018).
On the other hand, the principles of different forms of organizational communication are given as follows:
Clarity: The communication language in different forms of organizational communication must be understandable, simple, and unambiguous for the receiver (Vickey, 2018).
Integration: Through the different forms of organizational communication, the efforts of the organization’s employees must be integrated to achieve the organizational goals……….
