Overall Treatment Plan: |
After consulting my client, we decided to work more on the back, feet and hands. As my client tells me those areas will help to relax. On the back, I apply all the strokes as normal, also on the body, but on hands, I insist with extra effleurage(palms), petrissage and finger pull, and on the foot, I apply extra effleurage(sole of the foot with the heel of the hand), petrissage(sole) and toe tugs(gently pull the toes individually), and I end with foot pulls. For the future, I will consist of 1 massage every few days after he is less stressed. |
TREATMENT 1 Case Study 1 |
Home Care Advice: |
I recommended to my client to take good diet 5-6 times a day including plenty of vegetables, organic foods, needs to take fewer carbohydrates but higher minerals need to avoid carbonated drinks, alcohol, too many teas and coffees, needs to take plenty of sleep and rest as much as possible (especially after massage). Also, try to reduce stress: Try relaxation techniques, such as meditation, yoga or deep breathing. Avoid stimulants: Caffeine, nicotine, some cold medicines, and energy drinks Avoid illegal drugs: Certain drugs, such as cocaine and amphetamines However, if he can’t get rid of stress, he needs to make an appointment with the GP or specialist. |
Client Feedback: |
When the client was asked how he felt during the first treatment, he provided positive feedback. He said that is feeling better in term of reducing stress. Mr. Tamas did not feel any reaction and negative sense during the treatment. He felt relaxed. The pressure was good during the message. The room temperature was 25 degrees and he felt good with the room temperature. He was happy with lighting and music, but he was expecting to use aromatherapy oils (he expects a nice smell in the air and in oils). He said that for a few minutes at the end of the massage he fell asleep. He did not notice any cold spots or energy dips during the message. |
Self Reflection: |
Overall, I enjoyed the treatment. I carefully followed the methods and techniques of providing this message in providing the client in the right and proper way. Additionally, I was aware of Covid-19 and used PPE Equipment including mask, visor and gloves. However, the room temperature was good, my client is relaxed. Also, I could use more relax-able furniture and other equipment during the treatment. Additionally, I could also use the attractive smell of air fresheners. The light and music were good. When the message was provided, immediately he was feeling better and provided positive feedback regarding the treatment. He did not face any psychological and physiological reactions during the treatment. |
CPD Identified: (Continual Professional Development) |
I need to do financial and time investment in my professional development to extend my skills, knowledge and experiences. As my client likes foot massage my Level 3 course is not good enough to meet these requirements. Thus, I want to invest in an ITEC Level 3 in a Reflexology training course that will increase my required knowledge and understanding. In addition, during the current Covid-19 issue, I must have proper training on how I and my clients can be protected from this severe pandemic. Further, some of my clients prefer aromatherapy oil. Thus, I can invest in an Aromatherapy course. Finally, I can ask my clients to identify the areas where I should improve on. Then, I can research these areas and take effective initiatives to overcome these unexpected conditions/unawareness. |
TREATMENT 2 Case Study 1 |
How was the Client after the last treatment? |
When the client was asked how felt after the last treatment, he said that he felt much better. He had a good sleep at night. He felt relaxed and stress-free for 3 days after the treatment took. He said that he was now feeling much energy and less stress. He was now enjoying his time much better than the previous. On the other hand, he said that he did not notice any contra-actions within the 3 days after the treatment took. Mr. Tamas says also that he practices deep breathing and really helps him in stressful situations. |
Home Care Advice: |
I asked him if he adopts any of my suggestions provided in the previous advice. He said that he tried to follow almost all my suggestions and now feels much better and got benefits from these. That is why I have suggested he repeat all my previous advice. Also, I recommended drinking plenty of water after the treatment and getting some sleep if possible. However, if he can’t get rid of stress, he needs to make an appointment with the GP or specialist. |
Client Feedback: |
When the client was asked how he felt during the second treatment, he provided positive feedback. He said that he felt better in terms of reducing stress. He did not feel any reaction and negative sense during the treatment. The pressure was better during the message. The room temperature was 26 degrees and he felt better with the room temperature. She was happy with the lighting and music. He said that he will continue to have a massage because he sees is helping him in reducing stress. He did not notice any cold spots or energy dips during the message. |
Self Reflection: |
In my opinion, my massage was good. My deep care made happy my client. When the message was provided, he was feeling better and provided positive feedback regarding the treatment. The second treatment is easier to apply as I know my client’s needs. He did not face any psychological and physiological reactions during the treatment. However, I could improve the treatment room a bit more. I could use more relax-able furniture and other equipment during the treatment. Additionally, I could also use the attractive smell of air fresheners. |
