Introduction

Business communication is defined as the process of transmitting information about and within the organization. An example of business communication is an email to employees with a list of items to be discussed at the next meeting. During the meeting, the CEO encourages the employees to use business communication to work together on a new marketing strategy. It means the sharing of information between people within an enterprise that is performed for the commercial benefit of the organization. In addition, business communication can also refer to how a company shares information to promote its product or services to potential consumers. It can also be defined as the relaying of information within a business by its people.

Types of information

Types of information Descriptions
Verbal information Verbal communication entails the use of words in delivering the intended message. Verbal is also known as oral information. Verbal communication is the spoken word, either face-to-face or through phone, voice chat, video conferencing, or any other medium. Various forms of informal communications such as the grapevine or informal rumor mill, and formal communications such as lectures, conferences are forms of oral communication. Oral communication finds use in discussions and causal and informal conversations. The effectiveness of oral conversations depends on the clarity of speech, voice modulation, pitch, volume, speed, and even non-verbal communications such as body language and visual cues. Verbal communication makes the process of conveying thoughts easier and faster, and it remains the most successful form of communication
Written information

Written information includes traditional pen and paper letters and documents, typed electronic documents, e-mails, text chats, SMS, and anything else conveyed through written symbols such as language. This type of communication is indispensable for formal business communications and issuing legal instructions. Communication forms that predominantly use written communication include handbooks, brochures, contracts, memos, press releases, formal business proposals, and the like. The effectiveness of written communication depends on the writing style, grammar, vocabulary.

Therefore, this is significant for Tesco managers as well as owners to increase effective written communication methods in order to gather written details. Written information normally follows customers, retailers, and staff and employs them in an organization. The components of written information could be telegrams, electronic mail, postcards, faxes, proposals, advertisements, contracts, new releases, and brochures.

On-screen information  Video conferencing which allows people in different locations to hold interactive meetings is a kind of information that requires detail to be accessible on-screen. This type of data can be an arrangement of graphics, video, animation, text, and sound. For example, material prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Flash The visual management could appear statistics that could provide an improved understanding of the working performance of an organization. Tesco could be recognized with the practice of presentation on changing or joining something in the company. Tesco may have meetings with their customers using on-screen information.
Web-based information Internet, websites, social media like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Imo, etc are playing an important role in web-based information. Tesco corporation provides them all information through its own website. The main benefits of web-based information are many people can receive as well as read web-based information from everywhere.

Purpose of information

One of the key aspects is to understand the purposes of information such as operational support and monitoring and controlling activity; analyzing information by identifying patterns or trends; using the information to make operational, tactical, and strategic business decisions and gaining a commercial advantage over competitors by using information correctly. Business communication is a common topic for a dynamic business company like Tesco plc. In addition, written information is frequently measured to make it suitable for complex business messages which contain significant figures and facts. For example, Tesco could do a written contract defining a stakeholder can increase their share of up to 5%.

Companies use the information to support their operations and day-to-day activity. This is categorized as operational support. Operational support means that businesses use the information to monitor and control activity within the business. An example of this could be a multinational high street trader that monitors the sales of certain types of jeans in different locations. They might find that the style of jeans that sells well in the UK would not sell as well in China due to different fashion influences at the time. When the company monitors this information they can use it to control the business and what items are sold in certain areas. This monitoring and control mean that the business can use operational support to maximize profit by minimizing the delivery costs of incorrect items. This is just one small example of how a business can be used to support operations by monitoring and control activity. Other examples would be monitoring the stock to order more items when needed or calculating what items made the most profit and spending most of the marketing budget to promote this item as it is the most profitable………….
