Introduction
Marks and Spencer is one of the leading retailers in the UK. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100 Index. It specializes in retailing luxury products, clothing, and food products. M&S was established in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas in Leeds. M&S has 852 stores throughout the UK. It has many stories in the international market including 52 stores in India, 48 stores in Turkey, 37 in Russia, 27 in Greece, 17 in Ireland, 14 in France, 11 in Poland, 6 in Hungary and Finland, and 5 in Spain. It is an international organization, where more than 83000 employees are working. The profit of this organization was nearly £10.300 billion in 2015, where the gross, as well as net profit, was £762.5 million and £481.7 million respectively in 2015 (Marks & Spencer, 2016).
Sue Ryder is a charitable organization that was established in 1953 by Sue, with the creation of a nursing home in Suffolk, UK. Sue Ryder supports people with life-threatening illnesses and complex needs across the UK and internationally. In 2011/12, Sue Ryder had an annual expenditure of £81.9 million, placing it in the top 60 of UK voluntary organizations ranked by expenditure (Sue Ryder, 2016).

The main finding is that Marks and Spencer is a profitable company whose main purpose is to achieve improved profit and revenue by achieving a developed market share and consumer retention. On the other hand, Sue Ryder is a charitable and non-profitable business whose main purpose is to serve the community with their donation (Marks and Spencers, 2015)…….
