Introduction
This paper discusses the techniques of human resource management of the Arcadia Group. The chosen organization for this assignment is the Arcadia Group. Arcadia Group Ltd. (formerly Arcadia Group plc and Burton Group plc) is a British multinational retailing company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It owns the high street clothing retailers Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Topman, Topshop, Wallis, and the out of town chain Outfit, which sells lines from the other group chains. The group has more than 2,500 outlets in the UK, concessions in UK department stores such as Debenhams, Selfridges, as well as several hundred franchises in other countries (Arcadia Group, 2019).
Firstly; it describes the internal and external factors in human resource planning and secondly it mentions how the skills that employees require to carry out jobs in an organization are identified. The third task includes the roles and responsibilities of the key personnel of the Arcadia group for managing the employees and hazardous equipment. The 4th task explains the process of obtaining the cooperation of the employees by the business organization, especially for The Arcadia Group. Finally, this assignment analyses the process of measuring and managing employee performance, especially for The Arcadia Group.

I have joined as an HR officer at The Arcadia Group. For this reason; I have to give a clear concept about human resource planning. Some of the external and internal factors are mentioned below:
External factors
Employment:
Workforce planning can be largely affected by the employment conditions prevailing in the country(Hodgetts, 2012). For example, a country where there is greater unemployment, a company might feel pressure from the government to recruit more individuals so that the rate of unemployment can be curbed. On the other hand, an organization operating in a country where there is a shortage of labor might have to hire employees from a different country.

Technical changes in society
The rate at which technology changes take place is very fast and workforce planning falls vulnerable to the changes that society experiences in technology(Hodgetts, 2012). Whenever there are technological changes occurring in society, business organizations have to hire new employees that possess the required technical knowledge and at the same time deal with the existing employees.
Demographic changes:
Demographic changes refer to the changes in factors, such as age, population, composition, etc. of the society(Hodgetts, 2012). Demographic changes can result in retirements, the graduation of new candidates, etc. This can have an impact on the workforce planning of a company.
Pressure groups:
Business organizations have to keep the interests of certain pressure groups in mind. Groups like human resource activists, media, woman activists, etc. can create a lot of trouble for businesses and can cause a significant change in the workforce planning of companies(Hodgetts, 2012).
Competition:
The extent of competition in an industry can also have a great deal of impact on the workforce planning of the companies operating in that industry(Hodgetts, 2012). Employers of choice in an industry have an advantage in the workforce planning process as the candidates are themselves interested in working with them and will contact the recruitment cells of such companies on their own. On the other hand, workforce planning for smaller companies can be difficult as they have to make extra efforts to advertise and promote vacancies in their workplaces…………..
