Introduction
In the competitive business condition, Business communication is needed to run the activities of the firm effectively. Communication can happen in a formal and informal way but it requires specific skills and knowledge. In this assignment; the theories of business communication, as well as the skills required for effective ex-communication, are described.
Task 1- Theory of communication
1) Communication models and systems used in businesses
Communication process models
In a communication process model, the parties include senders, receivers, messages, feedbacks and the channel of communication includes verbal, oral, written, presentations, online, letters, media, etc.
Figure: Communication model
The Sender
The sender is the first part of the communication process. He/she is known as a communicator. Normally the sender gives the command or request or question, or idea to other parties of the communication process. The sender should use common and easy language that easily understands by the receiver otherwise communication can be a breakdown.
The Receiver
In the communication process, who receives the sender’s message is defined as a receiver. After giving the sender’s message, the receiver receives it and decodes it effectively.
Our Recommended Resources:
The Message
The most important factor in the communication process is the message. It is the content of the sender’s text to the receiver. The message must be a common and easy language that easily understands by the receiver otherwise communication can be a breakdown.
The Medium
Medium means channel. The medium of communication includes verbal, face-to-face, written, presentations, online, letters, media, etc.
Feedback
It is the last part of the communication process. After understanding the sender’s message, the receiver is giving feedback on the message to the sender. Feedback occurs through direct and indirect methods.
Other Factors
Not only the above factors but also the following related factors also affect the communication process largely:
Noise: At the time of communication, noise badly affects the communication process to send, receive as well as understand the whole message. Therefore; the sender and receiver should concern about the noise at the time of communication.
Context: Context means the setting as well as the situation of the communication process. It also affects the free flow of communication. It indicates the physical, social, or cultural situation of communication. For example; one can share personal talking with the bosom friend but not others.
Advantages of the communication process
The effective communication process helps to make communication effective. It also removes the communication breakdown problems and achieves the ultimate objectives of communication (Kimberlee Leonard, 2018).
A disadvantage of the communication process
Despite the advantages of the communication process, it has some disadvantages also. Firstly; the sender and receiver have enough knowledge about the communication process and factors of communication otherwise the communication will be a breakdown. Secondly; sometimes the communication process is the cause of misunderstanding and conflicts that hamper the prosperity of business organization (Roslyn Frenz, 2017)…………
