1.0 Introduction

This assignment’s aim is to assess the process in what way the participation of the community (nationally or locally), globalization and sustainable environment, entrepreneurship or leadership influence the performance as well as the quality of the project work in developing countries such as Bangladesh.

2.0 Sustainable Environment and Globalization

2.1 Sustainable Environment

Sustainability differs from the expectations and interests of the stakeholders. “Development” is a term that comes across the present’s needs devoid of negotiating the future generations’ ability to see their particular necessities. The developing land as well as construction projects’ practice which minimizes the influence on the environment by permitting them to make self-sufficiency’s efficiency models is known as sustainable development (Brundtland Commission, 2016). It has three goals. These are a) to reduce natural sources’ depletion, b) to stimulate the development devoid of creating damage to the environment and to create the friendly practice of the environment. Moreover, it is the condition where a business has the capability to develop the functions and strategies indeterminately (Mullins, 2015). A sustainable environment is defined as healthy, vital, strong over periods and able to changes. Moreover, it can be measured as limited action encouraged, promoted as constant procedure and sustainable in the market (Torrington et al., 2015).

2.3 Globalization

Globalization is the business process to develop the business in the international marketplace. Moreover, it is the business process to manage the global marketplaces from general marketplaces (Investopedia, 2017). It is significant to endure in the international marketplace as well as achieve sustainable benefits. Then, it gives vast facilities for an industry to develop their marketplace and profits in international marketplaces’ large areas. Porous international boundaries and trans-border flows of capital have precipitated a relentless proliferation of multicultural projects. The internal marketplaces’ economic incorporation is generally referred to by globalization.

2.4 Impact of Globalization on project management

There are many impacts of globalization on project management which are explained as below:

  1. Legal issue
  2. Environmental issues
  3. Political issues
  4. Cultural issues
  5. Technological issues
  6. Economic issues (World Bank, 2015)

3.0 Leadership and Entrepreneurship

3.1 Leadership

Leadership is the capability of the management of a company to set up the business and gain exciting objectives, get decisive or swift action, overtake the rivalry as well as motivate others to do better (Kruse, 2015). Leadership is a leader or manager’s quality in an organisation that has capability to lead the mission or vision of the business as well as can influence or motivate the stakeholders or the workers to the objectives or goals of an organization.

3.2 Leadership Theories

There are many types of leadership theories which are explained as below:

Great Man Theories

  • This theory relies on the leaders come with distinctive abilities
  • Leaders are extraordinary
  • Leaders are intended to manage (Hughes, 2015).

Trait Theories

  • This theory focuses on the traits or qualities of the leaders
  • Traits mean morality, integrity, honesty and so on.
  • It is difficult to extent (Hughes, 2015).

Transformational Theory

  • This theory concentrates on the inspiration or influence of the supporters
  • It is appropriate for key modifications
  • It takes key creativity, changes as well as innovation
  • Businesses are given competitive advantages by it (Hughes, 2015)

3.4 Ethical Leadership

Ethical leadership concentrates on equality, sustainability and CSR. Moreover, it also concentrates on the 4P’s (purpose, planet, profit and people) which are given in the image as follows:

Cultural issues in ethical behavior

There are two cultural issues which are described as below:

  1. Cultural relativism: Ethical behaviors are mainly focused on cultural relativism.
  2. Cultural universalism: Individual’s unrespectable behaviors are focused on cultural universalism (Hasselbein, 2016).

4.0 Entrepreneurship

4.1 Entrepreneurship

It is a procedure of running, launching and designing the fresh business that is frequently firstly a non-profitable or small business and persons who construct the business are known as “entrepreneurs” (Business Encyclopedia, 2017). Profitable and non-profitable organizations created social enterprises. Different changes are brought in the community or society by these which are explained as below:

  • Sterilizing an organization’s mission or vision to endure the value of the society
  • Identifying the facilities to meet the vision or mission
  • Taking creativity or innovation
  • Handling the business resources efficiently or effectively (Kotler et al. 2015)

4.2 Types of Social Enterprise

Non-profits

  • Emphasis on the services or products of the organization
  • Propose free services or products on offer time
  • external subsidies or supports

Profits

  • Services or products
  • Achieve profits as well as revenue
  • Meet the interests of the stakeholders (Kotler et al., 2015)

4.3 Entrepreneurship in Economic Model

4.3 Community Participation (Locally and Nationally)

Community Participation is the procedure by that a community mobilizes its resources, initiates and takes responsibility for its own development activities and implements all other development programs (Cheetham, 2017). Community participant is the combination of both local and national communities.  Community participant concentrates on the resources of the organization for the benefit of the society. Then, it concentrates on the demands, trends and economic conditions of the society. Moreover, it concentrates on the persons who are focused on development. On the other hand, community participant contributes in the activities of the government. Furthermore, it donates to the community. Lastly, beneficiary countries are contributed by community participants.

4.4 Aims of the community participant

Community participant has many aims which are defined as below:

  1. Self-reliance is developed by the community
  2. Critical awareness is developed by the community
  3. Skills of problem-solving are developed by the community (Robbins, 2015)

5.0 Conclusion

Leadership skill is an effective part of an organization to gain the sustainable competitive advantages. So, it is very important for leaders to be confident, self-motivated and visionary. Then, it is also very significant to look for opinions from the team members as well as the followers. The leader must be cooperative, honest, supportive and friendly in their work. They must be reflected on their performance. Moreover, they follow different role models and advisors. Different effective management or leadership training is gained by them. Lastly, they develop an action strategy by applying the SWOT analysis and SMART objectives.
